i could never get the start to sound good. it always had a pop. i think when i originally mixed it i cut it way too close so that the song started instantly, but that gave me no space to get rid of the pop. over the years i tried everything i could think of with no success. also in this song you get to hear the only percussion in the whole album. i kept it simple because i'm not a drummer and i felt it added a lot to the song. also i use the same chord progression for the chorus in another song but in a different key. originally i wanted a lot of recurring musical themes but that never really worked out, though there are a few of them.
